Most of our Iceland-style package tourism ends up around Rovaniemi and Western Lapland in the resorts, my area hasn't seen an international tourism boom yet in North Karelia and Kuhmo. The rescue resources are spread thin. We will have to increasingly handle wildfires, floods, etc.
Thanks, a great piece! I've been raising the issue in Finland because the tourism to Sápmi (Lapland in Finnish) is growing. I visit the Northeast Arctic because I know Border Guards from there, and they are rather busy due to Russian pressure and have to handle rescue tasks on top of that.
