it's half past 6pm and i can't see the sun, everything is coated in blue light and i want to escape by any means necessary. Maybe I should go to the airport and hijack a plane and go to Libya, not as a political thing, just for the weather

The Sunni Arabs of Lebanon's Baqaa valley supported Hizbullah after 2006, until the massacres of Sunni Muslims in Syria by the Assad regime, supported by Russia, Iran's IRGC and Hizbullah. Which helps to explain why Sunni rebels in Syria and Libya accepted CIA support. Shiat gets complicated.

When I started noticing last year how many places on earth are getting near annual rainfall in a couple of days (Greece, Libya, North Carolina, California, China, Mexico, Dubai) from storms that come out of nowhere, I realised we’ve definitely reached a tipping point.

Milliband's position always seemed to me - and I agreed at the time - "something must be done, but we've seen the damage caused by going in and having no plan for what to do. What is the plan?" No answer came. Given what had just happened in Libya too, this seemed reasonable to me.

Make no mistake, I don't think Iran or Libya under Gaddafi were/are good or nice. But from a coldly logical perspective US foreign policy has made clear the only thing that will protect a nation from them is having nukes. Compare Iran and Libya to Pakistan and North Korea.

Nuclear proliferation is very very bad. The actions of the US and its allies towards Libya and Iran after both made agreements with the US, the former to get rid of its WMDs, the latter not to develop nuclear weapons, make clear only proliferation brings a state security.
