You are an artist!! A little English language encouragement from an art cafe in Seoul for those who want to do some drawing in this cafe, all part of the coffee and cafe #LinguisticLandscape of Seoul!
KADAYIF & PISTACHIO HEART CHOCOLATE Kadayif and by implication Dubai taking greater prominence in the tasty #LinguisticLandscape of Seoul, here in a convenience store. Will have to try this!
TAKE-OUT CULTURE COMPOSE COFFEE An interesting chair-text here given the chair is for those not taking their coffee out, but neat to see this cafe chain lean into being mostly a take away coffee place and turning that into their brand culture. All part of the cafe #LinguisticLandscape of Korea!
This is an older story, but a good reminder of the connections that exist within the mundane and everyday linguistic soundscape and the same can be said about the #LinguisticLandscapewww.bbc.com/news/uk-engl...
King Kong makes an appearance in the #LinguisticLandscape of kebabs of Seoul. Seen this gorilla on a few signs in Korea, seemingly unrelated to the product offered by the store, but not sure why this shop is named this way. Tasty kebabs though!
Some interesting 'welcome' multilingualism on this multicultural church sign in Seoul. Has me wondering about church signs and church language policy more broadly in Korea and beyond . . . A part of the #LinguisticLandscape of course!
Good to see more international reporting on issues of immigration in Korea, and a little mention of the #LinguisticLandscapewww.bbc.com/news/article...
Ethnic Koreans, whose ancestors migrated to Russia, are returning, but the move can be difficult.
A lot going on with the signage here in this shopping plaza in Seoul, lots of different practices in the #LinguisticLandscape here . . .
I will be sad whenever this poster disappears from campus. It also reminds me how signs and other parts of #LinguisticLandscape can remain long after their original purpose is served . . .
