Without further ado, here are my top-10 books released in 2024 (so far). I will release the final list in March 2025, when I've had the time to finish all the 2024 books I wanted to read.

#1: "Same As It Ever Was" by Claire Lombardo. #2: "Goddess of the River" by Vaishnavi Patel. #3: "Blood Justice" by Terry J. Benton-Walker. #4 "You Get What You Pay For: Essays" by Morgan Parker. #5: "Cue the Sun! The Invention of Reality TV" by Emily Nussbaum. #6: "Down with the System: A Memoir (of Sorts)" by Serj Tankian. #7: "Rednecks" by Taylor Brown. #8: "My Side of the River" by Elizabeth Camarillo Gutierrez. #9: "Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder" by Salman Rushdie. #10: "There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension" by Hanif Abdurraqib.

I did a whole bunch of these for Rakehell; as its the core mechanism to explain refreshes within the West March. Fun to make ones that allow the player to come back and be incredulous about. The sort of fun nonsense to get the party moving vs spending time to look for/recover a 'missing' teammate.

For some generous value of "bugs": an adolescent male Common Goldeneye with some swimmy multi-legged critter -- Vancouver, March 2020 (Also one of the first photos I ever took with my then brand-new telephoto-lens!) #birds#BirdsAndBugs

In March, I recommended an EP from a Seattle band called LYSOL. 3 months later, after some litigious discussion (probably), they returned as Fan Club. This week brings Another Demonstration 2024. 5 snotty Rock & Roll tracks with unhinged vocals. officialfanclubfanclub.bandcamp.com/album/anothe...
