But also Marshall McLuhan.

Out Group Hate USA politics has become. A hates B, B hates C, C hates A. It is a world-wide hate festival of people hating and not understanding or caring about common good. Democracy fails when hate motivates. My message is about Mass Man (Marshall McLuhan), Mass Mind (Howard Bloom), mob mentality

I reversed thee: correct: Mass Man (Marshall McLuhan), Mass Mind (Howard Bloom). Another term is Carl Jung / Joseph Campbell, "Collective Unconscious". I also call it "group think", "mob mentality".

Finished chase joynts new book today. I have a lot of thoughts but essentially it feels like it’s from the r&b wing of trans lit and lives and dies by how one feels about McLuhan, if he’s a prophet or an intellectual held up by Canadian insecurity

Shannon: "the channel is merely the medium". McLuhan: "the medium is the message". It is information theory all the way down.

Claude had to help me with this one! Marshall McLuhan was a Canadian philosopher, professor, and influential media theorist who made significant contributions to the field of media studies in the 20th century…

Shannon is certainly underrated: McLuhan (1964) mentions/bashes "Shanner [sic!] and Weaver" only once, with no reference in "Further Readings for Media Studies". And indeed Shannon is functionally absent from Media Studies syllabi to this day. Pretty thick!
