People often expect too much and too little from these technologies, leading (I would argue) to both over-ambitious and underwhelming demands.
These issues aren't insurmountable, but we need a top-down agreed framework (OfS/IfATE/Skills England?). A while back I wrote this (johnnyrich.com/the-lifelong...) about how microcredentials might, with capstone modules, stack up into degrees, including, in a pick-n-mix, âgeneral degreesâ.
