Been thinking about this since yesterday! I could say any movie at my local much-loved art cinema. But: going with 4 Weddings and a Funeral on opening night in a suburban multiplex in Boise. Packed theater for a film written by & for grownups; the kind of movie that doesn't make it to theaters now.
long live long island's 15-screen king of multiplex mediocrity, national amusements' Commack Cinemas, whose sticky floors, broken seats, and room-temperature popcorn where all i knew for most of my childhood. may it rest in peace.
I guess it even counts for when older movies, movies you've seen a million times at home, are re-released to theaters for a limited time, and you can get the full cinematic experience when watching it at a multiplex like as with any other new movie.
