#OctoberWorldBuilders 6: I used this same snippet for a recent WIPSnips prompt, so that's why "tales" is highlighted, but there's also sand - and not of the kind that tries to kill you x) Coincidentally, Ashrah is currently astral travelling to Alamhra.

She scooped up some of the soil on which she had brusquely landed and watched as fine grains of yellow stone slipped through her translucent fingers. Sand. She recognised the substance from ghost tales, though in their version, the so-called sand devoured anyone who stepped on it.
Perhaps that was the strongest indication that she was not in the Netherrealm anymore.
“We’re in the living realms,” Datusha confirmed. “So many hearts racing against mortality, so many thoughts trapped in mediocre minds. So much… life. It’s intoxicating.”

#OctoberWorldbuilders 6: SNIPPET: sand ⛱️

I sit on a cliff overlooking a small sandy beach. The cool breeze beneath the warm sun, the seagulls gliding through the salty air, and the steady thrum of the waves calms me. It’s a beautiful day, but then it’s always beautiful here. Even when thunderstorms rumble all up and down the coast, they never make it to my hometown of sunny San Hogar. It’s like a sanctuary. At least it was.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 4: Desert animals/plants In Skolnor and caves near dry outcrops live "myrky", blood scoprpions (a sort of 'were-scorpions') that guard the day slumber of vampires—but could also kill some if they get to them.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 4: Desert animals/plants Scorpions are common in the desert as are cockatrices. Oddly enough there are desiccated mangrove trees too...
