Added to my database of Hong Kong charts & graphs: the number of visitors to Hong Kong in 2024 is now estimated to be around 45 million, an increase of 32%. It's still 20 million short of the 2018 peak, which frankly was overtourism at that point

Never considered "overtourism" to be that big of a problem. When I was in Japan... 7 years ago, we of course also we traveling with large suitcases but it never seemed like that much of a problem. 😬 And I would not consider myself to be one of the "who cares" kind of tourists.

From one of the epicenters of overtourism -- FFS people, calm down and stop traveling like maniacs. You don't actually NEED multiple vacations a year. You don't DESERVE your fucking vacation. Give those of us who live in these places our offseasons back.
