Wow!!! James by Percival Everett was everything everyone said it was. Loved this novel reimagining of Huck Finn.

NOTE: I have NOT read "James" by Percival Everett or "Martyr!" by Kaveh Akbar, before someone asks. I know every critic has those as their top-two books. I will get to them before the final list.

I don’t think anyone will ever find out whether Rob finished Cloud Atlas, but he does seem to have a new book on the go…

Back in the saddle with a bit of Percival Everett. This book is called ‘I Am Not Sidney Poitier’.

Ahh, that's better.

Screenshot from the later Whodunnit episode Date With Death showing Paul Darrow in a dress showing his police ID to Antony Brown while John Fortune looks on. Valerie Leon and Ysanne Churchman are in this one too and it's from that last series when writers Lance Percival and Jeremy Lloyd were remembering their roots were in comedy.

Percival Everett’s JAMES is so good. The audiobook is good. If you haven’t read it and are tempted, I would read a quick summary of Huck Finn first (my memory of it from k-12 is very dim and I wish I had reread it before)

Percival, sacrifiquei o Luva de Pedreiro e o Davi do BBB para Baal. As voizes pedem sangue!

watching Peeping Tom on Criterion Channel. there’s a way that really well-made movies feel—every shot is intentional and conveys relevant information to the viewer; the subject matter and the look (colors, lighting) are of a piece. I’m reminded of what Lisa Lucas said about Percival Everett—

Percival vai ter que mostrar muita inteligência e emoção forte se não vai dar ruim pra ele...

A disputa Hamilton x Percival em 2025 vai mostrar aos incautos o quão bom Russell é... 😜
