In honor of the never-ending battle of instant flakes, tonight's dinner consists of baked pork chops with potatoes au gratin and fresh green beans. Couple that with some excellent vodka and showing the girl the 2001 live action/animated masterpiece Osmosis Jones.

I rolled the cichlid caves around in aquarium-grade silicone and then rolled them around in my substrate (NEHerp VE2) until they looked like unwashed fresh-dug potatoes. Then using sphagnum moss (I had a bag leftover from a prior project) as a support I laid them around a mound to make a hill.

Right now I am out of dog food so I boiled a chicken with chopped up carrots and sweet potatoes and green peas. I got all the meat stripped off the bone and made a big pan of rice with the broth. then mixed it all together. That is her food for a couple of weeks. She is eating better than I am.

Ube is one of my favorite flavors. It’s made from sweet potatoes. It’s usually creamy.

Next weeks meals: Bean and cheese tacos. Sammiches with chips. Sausage dogs with chips. Beef short ribs and mashed potatoes. Gotta buckle down and burn off this food....
