Put another way, it's a miracle that film CG went from its POVRay phase (Last Starfighter, TRON) to its PRMan phase (Jurassic Park) in 10 years. We didn't have to endure many failed attempts in those 10 years. T2 and JP came along and knocked us on our butts.
There's something so sad to me when once popular open source projects become unmaintained. I made so many bad renders in 2004 that took forever on my shitty machine. github.com/POV-Ray/povray

Thanks you David. I'm no into script code, so I never use Povray. I began with Imagine 1.1 on Amiga, then Lightwave 3.5. Very basic wireframe interfaces. C4D can still render old fashion Phong if you know how to set the shaders, light and render engine back to basic rendering techniques.
povRayマジで意味わからん。やっぱエンジニアにはなれねぇ()
Povray would work for that 😌
povray! not poverty! lol shit. yes I ate a lot of ramen at the time but I had a mac, I was fine
Found some new-to-me early homebrew raytracing archives last night and I can't wait to comb through them! Few things my nerdy heart loves more than spending hours digging through obscure BBS image archives lol
somebody put a buttplug render (and source files) on the official POVRAY shareware cdrom back in 1995
