RHEL= Red Hat Enterprise Linux Repositories are libraries of version-specific utilities and commands. Satellite repos are copies of the public ones a company hosts internally (more secure) kernel-devel enables building kernel modules. The kernel is the core bits of Linux.
Installing apps on RHEL is all fine and dandy until it's in a closed network and the satellite repositories don't have the version of kernel-devel the app installer checks for. 🤬
