Oh that’s a tricky one. Thanks for buying Taking Flight, and I’m always so pleased when people choose to buy my books as presents. If you have the patience to wait, Light Rains is (in my frankly irrelevant opinion) a bit better if read from beginning to end, but starting anywhere else works too.

Having grown up someplace where it rains in July and August and that's pretty much it, it felt like reading about an alien world—but it was neat seeing how many different ways an Irish writing could find to describe rain.

When it rains, it pours. Perhaps they should also try and get an abundance of yellow jacket traps out there. Hang them wherever they can. This is just awful. I dread to think what else is out there in the flood waters. 😱This freak storm broke the law of all storms. Landfall-inland-downgrade to TS.

Indeed. I've been thinking about what to wear and preparing, I've long experience of being out in the sticks in weathers most wouldn't go out in - bitter cold blizzards, hazardous winds and drenching rains. I'm looking at my old walking boots and raincoat to see if they're still up to the job.Indeed.
