It ain't the economy. They've managed to do via taxing & regulation what a trillion dollar "war on drugs" utterly failed to do. Sold the game to wall st & f**ked all the mom & pops/small biz. That TOURISM & copying the wine industry is their only hope KILLS me. That's why I filmed a wine SEEWEED...
Interested in #cannabiswww.youtube.com/playlist?lis... Oh & I have an Emerald Triangle travel series on the same channel - The SEEWEED Chronicles
Exactamondo. These farmers grow no more than 10k sq ft. That's as much as a 1-2 person team can manage hands on. All are unique properties/terroir. They DON'T WANT to scale up. Hence the title of the film that started the SEEWEED chronicles - "The fight to stay small" youtu.be/xdfaQ-pLYtE
Travel deep into the Emerald Triangle to the small town of Laytonville in Mendocino County - a legacy cannabis farm town that's found times tough since the legalization in 2018. Legal cannabis has not been kind to California's cannabis craft farmers - but farmers are not taking it sitting down and in a throwback to earlier days are organizing direct customer events - like Farmers Markets. Filmmakers Matt Grimshaw & Lincoln Godfrey travelled to the 2nd market in a series of 4 (Final 2022 market 30th July - https://www.visitmendocino.com/venue/mendocino-producers-guild/) to talk to members of the Mendocino Producers Guild about their struggles to survive in a legal market that was designed without them in mind.
Mixture of craft farms I visited for The SEEWEED Chronicles - in Cherry Creek, Laytonville, Round Valley & Calpella. I have SO MUCH more. 😉
dude you have greasy seeweed on your chest
