"Streateries" better than parking spaces, I believe was the discussion at hand.

I mean, a LOT of restaurant owners say "this was a REALLY good business decision" so I have to default to them I guess? My last visit to NYC was in March 2023 and we only ate outdoors (in "streateries" to be clear, we're not masochists). It was great.

buddy, the city that stores garbage in colossal piles on the sidewalk doesn't get to complain about streateries when it comes to rats

A storage unit, probably. Restaurants in other cities manage this. Seasonal streateries are not some exotic problem that no one has solved.

I was sad to walk down 32nd St in Manhattan Koreatown yesterday and find all the streateries replaced by parking. Meanwhile Hoboken's streatery game still going strong.

Pretty cool to see a standardized outdoor dining structure coming to AdMo, especially since there’s such a difference in quality between different stores. It even includes a roof for rain and shade! Little curious how these are going to hold up to distracted drivers without any concrete though

Screenshot of tweet from Adam’s Morgan BID with an image attached. Image depicts a digital rendering of a new streetery design, featuring outdoor seating arrangements with tables and chairs under a covered structure. The setting appears to be on a sidewalk next to a street, indicating a planned space for dining.

Tweet text says:
“We’re excited to partner with @DDOTDC, @MayorBowser & 33 neighborhood businesses on a new streatery pilot program in #AdamsMorgan (18th St NW between Kalorama & Columbia Rds NW). Demolition of existing streateries is occurring now & installation of the new structures begins 9/16.”
