Politics have never been material, but status-oriented. So I think the socdem cliche remains the best path forward, however unlikely: cultivate real democratic egalitarianism. The form without the substance (in politics, law, healthcare, education) or even acknowledgment is driving ppl mad.

I don’t see how the left fails to organize inside the party. People like me are extreme outliers. The overwhelming majority of politically active progressives vote for dems and do all electoral work within the Democratic Party. The party’s on the ground organizing is often dominated by socdem types.
If the GOP collapses, I can see the Democrats picking up people in the middle, but an opportunity opening up for a party a bit to their left to bud off, focusing on the leftmost legislative seats. It might be a path to getting a decent SocDem party in the mix? This is all just theorizing, ofc.
