Any Wheel of Time fans out there?? After trying the series several times over the past couple years, I decided last year to start over with TEotW and clear my preconceived notions and expectations. Now I’m reading book 2 and WOW I’m having so much fun. If you’re a fan, hit me up with a DM!

Read a little further of Wheel of Time's TEOTW (chapter 11 at the moment). Very pleasantly surprised that my favorite parts from the prequel are present here again. Like the fact that the characters notice something and they don't ignore it, but take it seriously. Also I think we have gotten 2 --

Wheel of Time's TEOTW is completely different in pacing than New Spring (positive). I read very slowly (only about 6 chapters in like 10 days) but every paragraph seems very carefully constructed. I am glad I read the prequel because there's already a scene that I can make sense bc of it only.

I've seen "A Murder at the End of the World" (Hulu) recently and "Deadloch" (Amazon Prime) recently. Both are quite good. The final episode of D is less of a letdown than AM@tEotW.

The police procedural in a remote location where a crime reveals local secrets is a genre I’ve had little interest since the first season of Broadchurch. But a trusted source recommended Deadloch, and it’s riotously funny with great characters, and the mystery is actually compelling.

I do not remember that one, honestly. Again, I need to re-read, been 6ish years. Will have to fish out one of my (3... 4 if you include the audiobook) copies of TEOTW and start sometime this week I guess (oh no, the horrors!/sarcasm).

I agree that show first is the way to go. I love getting to finally see the story on the screen after picking up tEotW in 1997 but for new readers I think this is the way.
