It really depends on what you're looking for and what your tastes are. Since you were inspired by TFOne, Transformers Prime is probably a good starting point. The original 1984 series Transformers (also known as Generation 1) is not bad, but is definitely a product of its time.
it seems like they based tfone on the idw2005 comics, which had a much more detailed political uprising with megatron at the center. alas because he needs to be the villain, they turned him into a organic-phobe genocidal warlord i wish we got stuff that made Him the hero instead :/
I think this is my favorite shot from TFOne. You can even tell what's going through each of their minds. D looks slightly concerned, Orion looks curious, Elita looks bewildered and B just looks straight up scared. This movie deserves a more fair shot than what Paramount gave it
