This is a good intro to the topic if you're interested (and please, read more than just one blog post about "ungrading"). 🧪🌾

Some folks might be opposed to ungrading without knowing what it is (and isn’t). Here’s a teensy introduction. 🧪

Working my way through this, trying to absorb as much as possible. There are several folks I chat with on social media who are cited/thanked in this book who are part of the ungrading movement. www.press.jhu.edu/books/title/...

(I'm using "grading" as shorthand for "providing feedback" and "assessing skill development" and a whole bevy of things that don't have to come to a number at the end. I'm all onboard for Ungrading, worry not.)

Oh, thank you! I read the Ungrading book when it first came out, but I missed this second one! Off to read!

Not really for the courses that have research papers, since I use "ungrading" in those (i.e., making a good faith effort gets you an A, not doing that gets you an F) — no grade carrot/stick to motivate them

Maybe a chapter in the Ungrading book Susan Blum edited a couple of years back (w/WVU Press)? Or something in the crowd sourced book: pressbooks.howardcc.edu/ungrading/fr...
