I read it in a Tim Kurkjian column. I think they don't qualify dudes who played before WW1 as having accurate height measurements.

2022 drawing of a chinese "Big Sword" soldier "Big sword" or "Sword and pistol" units were military units used during 1920s and 30s in China inspired by WW1 Stormtroopers and Trench Raiders. But, instead of shovels or knives, those units used Dadao sword instead #China#BRArt

WW1 gas masks were most often 'wet', also - and that provided very incomplete protection. VERY incomplete.

Well done. I once saw a WW1 medal set for sale with totally incorrect research.

Working on eight soldiers for a client. A fairly random selection (he buys and sells medals and militaria). Only one has a surviving service record. What a shame. But some good stories in there. #FWW#WW1

Could've easily been mine, but thankfully I went to see WW1 movie "1917" in February 2020, just before all hell broke loose. 😅

Very much a generational thing. MacMillan was badly wounded in WW1, Heath commanded an artillery battery and was mentioned in despatches and Healey was a beach master at Anzio. Callaghan was the last PM to have been on active service.
