Lok Sabha witnessed heated exchanges between the ruling BJP and the Opposition over the Waqf Board amendment bill. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju dismissed the Opposition claim that the bill violates the Article 25 of the Constitution that gurantess right to propagate and practice one's religion. The Opposition accused the government of meddling in the affairs of the Muslim community. The government asserted that parliament has passed several amendments to the Waqf Board in the past.
