Ok so this is another theme in r/weddingplanning: parents offering to pay for things without doing ANY research on how much things cost these days, getting sticker shock, walking it back and leaving the happy couple in a lurch bc they weren’t proactive and didn’t communicate. This happens SO often!

There are two types of people in r/weddingplanning: the types who think you’re a greedy bridezilla if you hold any kind of expectations for your guests OR the types who think if your guests do not perfectly assume the role of adoring NPCs on your big day you should cut them out of your life forever

Maaan I’m a veteran r/weddingplanning lurker (shut up don’t judge) and lemme tell ya: it’s disheartening how many officiants, planners and other wedding industry pros seem to know fuck-all about non-Xtian weddings. If it’s not a white dress, a flower arch and “you may kiss the bride,” it’s GFY

My cat died unexpectedly- Signature Drink
Sign Question
Tough Times
My wedding is around the corner. I originally ordered 2 signature drinks signs with my cats picture (I had 2 cats) and the name of the drinks.
Unfortunately yesterday my cat suffered a severe stroke, and had several more blood clots at the emergency vet, and we had to let him go. I am devastated and his death hasnt really processed for me yet. We had him for 6 years and he was a really young cat (8 when he died).
Now I wonder do we keep the signature drinks signs? A part of me wants to print out 2 "in memorium of" stickers.
Would it be strange to have signature drinks of a beloved pet who passed away?

r/weddingplanning is so compelling and oftentimes sad because all of peoples WORST impulses and characteristics seem to be amplified by a factor of 11 when someone they allegedly love- a sister, a son, a daughter, a BFF, is getting married.
