The Arborec are either a single, harmonious plant-being that fills an entire planet, or trillions of unique plant- and fungal-based life forms, all united in a symbiotic consciousness. This unity, which they refer to as "the Symphony," makes the distinction between individual Arborec beings largely meaningless.
Beyond the reach of Nestphar's orbital spore clouds, the Arborec rely on their Letani, the largest organic sentient beings yet discovered in the galaxy. Each Letani forms the nexus of their own instance of the Symphony, and so is the closest thing the Arborec have to an individual consciousness. When the Symphony spreads to new worlds, forests of Arborec plants bloom around the Letani, integrating with the biosphere of the new planet and creating new harmonies in the Symphony.
