Arondir and Galadriel are the only elves I really like in The Rings of Power.
One possibility, and the one I thought of first, is that he met her during negotiations between Elves and Morgoth's forces in the Wars of Beleriand. Adar told Arondir about having been to Beleriand, and we also know that he and his Uruk fought many wars on behalf of others. /2
He and Arondir would have an interesting relationship, I’ve been trying to think up conversations between them. I think Arondir would be horrified by him, that an uncorrupted elf would willing support this, but it’s clear how dazed and weary he is.
The frustrating thing is that if it had been massively cut down - no Arondir, no Gandalf or Bombadil, no stupid Irish hobbits - just the Numenor and Sauron/Celebrimbor plotlines it could have been really good.

oooh was this your first time visiting Numenor? I don't remember how soon this plot shows up, just that we spend a lot of time there once Galadriel and Halbrand arrive (and after, too, the Numenor cast and their politics important) these poor captured elves! I felt so bad for them. Arondir trying
