Everything L3-37 (in Solo) said about droid rights was correct. She absolutely did not deserve what happened to her at the end of the movie. Also, I'm pretty sure she used to be an astromech droid and built her own body the way she wanted it, which is very gender.

Although I find the intentionally cute droids to be as adorable as the others and disagree with your sassiness point (Chopper & R2 lol) I do kinda want another basic astromech Droid that's just R2 in different colors as a big character again tbh.
