Cannot caution against it hard enough. Yes, It's a brave work of cinematic creativity by a legendary auteur. It's also the worst piece of crap I've seen since like... Catwoman. That's what we're dealing with here. It's SO BAD. It's not even so bad it's good, it's just regular BAD.

i think touhou is the only major example though it is fandom empowered. but there is something to applying auteur theory to multi-media where the fingerprints can be felt across different mediums.
