The Bronx has a certain combination of crumbling vinyl-clad Victorian frame houses cheek-by-jowl with prewar apartment buildings, overhead power wires, and front-yard parking that reminds me very much of parts of JC Heights or the Marion section. You never see cages on the balconies in JC though
Hanging things off 25 storey tower block balconies reminds me that there was a brief fashion in the 1930s for doing the same thing with BABIES. I am not making this up! Google "baby cages" 😳
Same here, neighbours say their newly worked on balconies look worse and less safe now. Gotta love paying for incompetence. Sigh…
If it helps, the noise was worse when they did the balconies of my neighbours on the other side. Concrete is weird that way. Of course, having workers come in my windows unannounced every day is a chore.
