Something I didn’t get a chance to post about for a bit is this Firebolt biplane! This is an up engined version of the “Bolt” which is an XL version of the a Pitts biplane! Is a fully aerobatic pocket rocket. A real cool thing to see at work. The pilot even taught me an interesting element.

Red white and blue Firebolt, biplane aerobatic aircraft
The plane rocks 4 ailerons, thats a pair for either side
Firebolt is painted in cursive on the tail
Side view of the Bolt showcases its symmetrical airfoils, and slight stagger of the two wings. Its diminutive in size yet could sit two people!

Selected frames from the roll of Kodak ProImage 100, usually a favorite of mine but it didn't handle the sky and motion as well as I'd like.

in 1903, Karl Jatho made a series of brief, uncontrolled flights in his “Motordrachen 2” biplane, a few months before the Wright brothers it seems that he always downplayed this feat, and was equally proud of this tandem Penny-farthing bicycle that he had built for him and his sister..

black and white photo of a Penny Farthing bicycle, BUT..picture the bike the other way round, so the smaller wheel is at the front. now imagine there is no seat at the top, instead two seats - one each side of the giant main wheel, with pedals under each. a very smartly dressed couple sit in the seats, holding handlebars with a long shaft that goes down to the front wheel

Got the film photos from Ranger back and while I think I need to do a bit of fine-tuning with the 50mm lens, there's some really fun stuff in here. (This batch is all on FlicFilm Aurora, a specialty 800 ISO stock.)

A landing white-and-green biplane shot against sunset.
A film photo of a field of planes at sunset - it has a very nostalgic vibe.

Scratch that. It's Ultima 2 that's WILD. It's all that but also: You can fly into time portals linked to 5 different time periods with a biplane so you reach a post-apocalypse Russia and steal a space shuttle while the KGB tries to catch you. And it turns out the solar system got killer clowns

This is the only song I know from them and it’s a banger. Got it when Apple used to do the Free Single of the Week

A screenshot of the Apple Music app with a song playing. The song is “History’s Door” by Husky. The album art shows a plane passing through a portal, one half an old biplane, the other half a new modern jet.
