This young Red-necked Grebe has surprised everyone by showing up in Sacramento. It’s a good distance from its expected habitat, a narrow band along the California coast. Even there it is rated Scarce or Rare. Given its noteworthy fishing success perhaps it will stick around. #birds#birds_matter
