Woke up with a terrible throat, stuffed sinuses and general blah feeling. Definitely a work from home day. Might take the afternoon off to nap. We'll see how it goes.
One of my colleagues just burst into my office after reading Island. She said almost accusingly, ‘YOU’RE A REAL AUTHOR!’ I said it wasn’t very academic. She said it was above all that nonsense. Really good to hear such a reaction after the mostly blah feeling of putting a book into the world! 🏝️🥲

this! i wear readers+ use bsky on a small screen, whichs fine for the default skeet font size but makes those tinytext blocks maddening. (also extra maddening when someone vaguely plugs "excerpt from blah blah" into the alt. like putting up a road sign emblazoned "road sign" just😵💫)
