I did a few "dry runs" of the Johto E4 and made it to Bruno. Without strong flying or psychic coverage I'm in a pinch. My Butterfree doesn't have Psybeam any more thought I think I can make other plans. His damn Machamp has Rock Slide!
It's not too late for me to grab Heracross in HGSS, who is one of my favorite Pokémon. He would be really good on my team the way it ended up... though he'd probably replace Butterfree in a completely different role
My team is somewhat lacking in Physical since I swapped out Golem for the Larvitar line... In the end, what really helped was Butterfree. Just had to catch it back up in levels to be a fast sleeper once again.
