They're missing some very vital components of how to human. If you look at any examples of astonishing survival under impossible conditions throughout history or currently, what you see is people banding together, forming a chainmail or resilience.

Joe Brandon Doesn't Want People To Know that a lot of 1980's Chainmail Bikini Sword fantasy unintentionally or otherwise had traces of Gor in its DNA. Gor is a pastiche of Burroughs's John Carter stories, though, so ymmv.

What I've come to suspect is that people just love being part of cults and when there isn't any cults the internet becomes a surrogate. "Knowledge" is an industry for cohesion of people who want to feel a connection to nothingness. It prevents nobody from acting out the incentives of evil.
