Got our kicks on Route 66 today. (Bobby Troup version).

A stone building, once a gas station, cluttered with vintage advertising.
A vintage white convertible decorated with an American flag and a Christmas tree poking out of the back. A banner waves “TACOS”.
The front of an old bar with an old wagon and horse sculpture on the patio roof. Lettering reads “Kicking it on 67 at Mike’s”.
An old Main Street with brick herringbone sidewalk. A vintage white American car is parked in front of a Route 66 store sign. An old man with a cane sits on a bench in front of the store.

Constructed a mutant today. Double T12 tips, convertible to run on an ebike battery for field repair with only a connector plug relocated.

A homemade T12 soldering station sitting on a black anti-static work pad mounted to a wooden table. Two wand-like black plastic soldering tool grips are cord attached to a pair of nickel connectors on the clear plastic laser cut enclosure for the twin circuits underneath, with LED displays and potentiometer knobs on each. Anderson power-poles in red, black and green connect it to its power supply on the left.

We just bought a used smart fortwo to replace the smart we've been driving since 2008. It survived two hit-and-runs and a deer, plus a large branch falling on the convertible roof the day after the 2016 election.

A red smart fortwo with black tridion panel and roof in a parking lot. In front of the smart is a cargo bike that's nearly as long as the car. Sitting in the wooden front cargo carrier of the bike is a small child whose head pokes over the top.

That’s not even my favorite Malaise Era car lawsuit! The people who bought the ‘76 Eldorado ragtops marketed by Caddy as “the last American convertible” sued in the early Eighties when Cadillac started selling droptops again.

They're sold as credits towards reduced ghg intensity in transportation fuels, which is measured in grams of CO2 per MJ, I think. So the value of cow shit gas is probably based on a standard pressurized volume? So what ever it is, it is convertible to dollars per gallon.
