I did teach students about Coptic identity, ethnic/religious, as well as ideas of Coptic Indigeneity—I explained what the refrain of “the settler makes the native” means, and how Indigeneity and diaspora are linked. Then we talked a lot about conversion and family law… so I did things. Distractedly.
