i went back and checked aquest's audio license again and they also don't allow the use of AI with the audio from their software. you would only be allowed to make an english defoko through sample editing, rather than through RVC like the english adachi reis that are floating around
i made a c+v english defoko bank Like,,, 2yrs ago and i COULD distribute it if i wanted to (i don't want to tho, cuz i was bad at using praat then and her formants are fucked) but i would have to mark it as being just Aquestalk-F1 instead of defoko
aquest doesn't have any qualms with distribution but it can't be defoko. ameya has said on twitter that only japnese aquestalk1-f1 can use the defoko or utane uta name
I'm slowly drawing a fan comic with Defoko right now... Very slowly. But I don't know how the popularity of individual utauloids that interest me developed. Was Defoko ever more popular than Kasane Teto? Or did people just create new voicebanks, leaving the default voice aside?
