Has anyone studied the micro-regional dialect where some people born in Houston, TX pronounce Houston as “youston.” Not everyone born in Houston pronounces it this way & nobody who lives outside Houston during speech development says it this way. New Yorkers say it annoyingly as “Howston.”

Pogo, Churchy, Howland Owl, Miss Hepzibah, Missus Beaver (I learned to read out of Pogo books, to my young school teachers' occasional horror at my dialect 😊😇.)

7/ After many years abroad, I was very touched to hear people in the corridor speaking about quantum stuff with the most beautiful dialect and melody. 🥰

It started that way. My tribe had 12 clans before the invasion. We now have 5. IDK which one is mine I just know our language is academically declared moribund. We lost two fluent speakers last year and my dialect is more tiny. It was always like this. Also it's called Active Duty for a reason...
