Even as a white trans person in Canadian labour environments, I have had a hell of a time getting issues of discrimination properly heard within the various unions I've belonged to. This is not uncommon.

When you read a press release of a research project that did not find the expected discrimination and apologize for it, you know this is an issue. Good science means you often do not get the results you expect and still they may be true.
