I haven't used Java much, but comparing Rust and C++ the culture of writing comprehensive and understandable documentation in the Rust ecosystem makes SUCH a big difference (C++'s "can't read a header file? SKILL ISSUE" culture is a particularly grim comparison tbf)

the one thing i'm missing about java is the hyper-precise specification of everything sure, it's painful to dig through but it's far less painful than only having a "here's an example call, do this and it works" type documentation, where the thing randomly doesn't work if you call it some other way
