my phone has been telling me i'm using it for 16 hours a day but it counts stuff like when i'm writing lyrics in Notes or controlling the spotify I'm playing alongside Destiny 2 on the Playstation or navigating somewhere with google maps. my tiktok time is way down. my bluesky doomscrolling too

While I don’t think the number of books you read in a year means anything, getting a new library card and access to Libby, plus turning to books over doomscrolling, has allowed me to read 64 books so far in 2024. I was originally aiming for 40, now I think I can get to 75. It’s brilliant. 💙📚

OK, started a proper grown-up BlueSky account just in time to start doomscrolling. This was such a bad idea.

I always tweet on PC, which begs the question "should I ever log in on my phone?" If I'm not posting I'm doomscrolling, or best case scenario I bookmark links to reply to later, but I often forget to do so anyways Maybe it's a good signal I should uninstall all of them from my phone

like hm... the way i see it is like, instead of a feed, you can just go look for something actively? i feel like most feeds will lead to some level of doomscrolling, human curation also means you have to *look* for that curated thing more actively
