also sorry/not sorry for the elder millennial coding here - we are a team of olds and we are firmly convinced we are funny!
1: Glorious ⭐⭐⭐.5/5 One man, one bathroom stall, and one elder god on the other side of a gloryhole. A great premise and cast and a fun time, but a bit of a layman's Lovecraft. Not super funny or scary for a horror/comedy. An easy, non-cerebral watch, with one lil twist and a few gallons of blood.
Last minute “off to Sendai” trip. Gotta make use of the rail pass after the ridiculous price increase.
a couple of things that i found distracting were: (1) the younger repeatedly calling the elder by his first name while the elder referred to the younger as “the senator,” and (2) that eyeliner.
ive ran into my fair share of revered, older black writers and one thing ive learned from these elder gods is that they care less for being worshipped and just wanna have someone meaningful to sip bourbon and bullshit with. nothing drains vitality more than idol-worshipping a living force of nature.
