I'm really looking forward to returning to the Kinver retrofit today. It now has EnerPHit certification. www.houseplanninghelp.com/hph322-an-en...

I forgot to take a pic but today I opened my home to people interested in retrofits. We had lively discussions on Passivhaus/Enerphit & CarbonLite standards, types of heat pumps, types of mechanical ventilation, solar panels, batteries & heat batteries, windows & U-value, insulation, etc 👍

It's been 20°C or more inside my London terraced 🏠, with no heating, for many days now, thanks to passivhaus windows/door, good loft insulation etc: improvements really pay off, even w/out being an Enerphit! But the acceleration of global warming making these temps possible in mid-Feb is terrifying!

Why doesn't EnerPHit have alternative criteria for heat load, like standard PH does?

Before you retrofit your home (to enerphit standards if poss) check it for existing defects. Todays investigations found saturated screeds and significant hidden mould growth. Good news is the remedial work required is simple!
