Example of the latter, it's easier to just say FE1, FE3, FE11, and FE12 in a discussion about the Est character/archetype than the mouthful of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Mystery of the Emblem Book 2, Shadow Dragon, and New Mystery of the Emblem. Especially if naming them multiple times.
The best thing to say about FE1 is that FE11 somehow isn’t the same game and yet is still good in a similar fashion. Impressive how similar they feel & yet play entirely differently.
