Top Tip: Get your neighbours to turn on their garden floodlights to swamp the distant light pollution, Works a treat, I never saw any "distant" light pollution. Absolute idiots they were!

The Lettered Board was a pub in Pickering, N Yorkshire & was always lit by fluorescent lighting brighter than the joint lux of Wembley Stadium floodlights and the Sun - combined. Hence whenever I walk in a brightly lit room I invariably come out with: ‘Christ! it’s like the Lettered Board in here.”
One unexpected thing I like is that you can actually see what's happening on screen at night! They're on a pitch black ocean middle of the night with only floodlights and the screen is as clear as day. No squinting to make out shadows.
