It's a couple days before my foodstamps get reloaded, I'm out of sandwich/other easy to eat foods and I forgot to thaw anything out, so I had to get a little creative for lunch today. Country fried pork steak and egg bowl with toast and country gravy.
I've been disabled for 15 years. My first check was $615. I had to stand on the street corners to beg for change.. now, at least, I get enough to pay a reduced rent and pay cable. But foodstamps could be better..

I think it all stems from that common 'fear' that it'll 'come out of their paycheck.' Just like with foodstamps, medicaid, SSI... It's exhausting.

It's still so baffling to me that the programs for foodstamps have not been updated since the 90s as to how much people should get. They expect me, a disabled person, to be able to survive off of $23 a month.
