That much I understand, at the end of the day a fursuit is never going to be "everyday wear" by any meaning of those words. So what I'm gathering is that the enjoyment that fursuiting brings you is directly proportional to the frequency that you can (or want to) go to furmeets etc.
A long time ago I saw a tweet from an early-20s furry saying that furries in their 30s are “weird” because “people should grow out of this fandom”. And just for that, you’re gonna catch me hosting furmeets at the retirement home.

Some asshat on Twitter complaining they were banned from SoCal furmeets for 'not liking babyfurs'. Things escalated, allegations were thrown out, they spread sticker at the next von (I think that was BLFC, but I am not from the US). Latest stunt was urging people to call the hotel that hosteted..
Tulsa you should see The Gathering Place, the best city park in the country. For souvenirs hit up buck atoms, decopolis, ida red. Gotta get a pic with the golden driller. Ike's chili has been run by the same family since 1908. mother road market is a local food court, we have furmeets there.
What furmeets etc are still active around the Boston/New England area? I need to find more local friends to hang out with, but the thought of trying to find them among normies frankly exhausts me.
