Why do distillers release luxury whiskies costing £50k into a crowded, over-supplied market? It's not just about big-ticket sales. Brands want to capture our attention and boost sales in their core range too. Read more for free 👇 open.substack.com/pu...

A screenshot with a quote from the newsletter linked to in this post. The quote reads: Bottles like this get our attention. And if you can’t afford this bottle, perhaps you’ll decide it’s been a while since you had anything from The Glenlivet and take a look at some of their other bottles instead.

It was an interjection i remember his back was turned he was waiting for a drink i was talking to his bandmate then he turned around just to say, "Was it ___?" Didn't ask him to repeat bc i lost a contact lens that night and really wanted to go home it was one of the random photos i took See Alt 😄

My right contact lens fell out while the opening bands were playing and I seriously thought about getting back on an Uber to get replacements at home but I knew that once I go back to the quiet suburbs the vibe will shift and I was already hyped to see Sincere Engineer so I stayed and just continued to pregame with my flask of Glenlivet 😅
I will never understand the hype over Chicago hotdogs because the ratio is literally a veggie sandwich with a tiny hotdog. Nevertheless, i smashed this at the hotdog stand across the street after the show with a girl I met who went to high school with Deanna the lead singer. // Metro music venue in the background.
Saw this while standing in merch line and took a photo because Trans-Siberian Orchestra did that badass cover of Carol of the Bells that my friends and i used to love blasting when we're at the "drive thru bakery" 🥴
Billy Corgan's head since the Metro Chicago was the venue where Smashing Pumpkins had their farewell show back in 2000

Almost a week since I was at The Glenlivet's 200th anniversary celebrations, and it's starting to feel slightly unreal. Did it really happen? Was I really there?

An extremely long table set for a formal dinner, running between the copper pot stills in The Glenlivet distillery. People are dressed up in their glad rags. There are coloured lights shining onto the table to up the mood: gold, blue, and a teal green (The Glenlivet's brand colour). The copper stills are gleaming. There are menus on the plates embossed with a gold '200' design, because this dinner is to celebrate the distillery's 200th anniversary. It's all very fancy indeed.

On the one hand, the grilled cheese sandwich I had in this tiny outer ring twin cities suburb was complete garbage. On the other hand, they had two scotches and we had a token for a “free beer or rail drink” and that token covered my Glenlivet.

Solely due to Parks and Rec, I bought a bottle of Lagavulin-16 a few years ago, and almost the entire thing remains. WAAAYYY too peaty for me. The Glenlivet is nice and smooth, with just the right kick for me.

Big fan of that Glenlivet 12-year. On the rare occasion I have booze at home, or go to a BYO function and I just want something to sip on, that's usually what I grab.
