In times of chaos/hardship, your people are your people. There are folks I'd get on a train or a plane for. Friends have called me during a crisis. I have sent goofy photos to loved ones having a bad day. Even physically apart for now, love can clear any distance. And I'd bet on that always. 4/4
But ultimately, there isn't a plausible and effective response to the general economic hardship sparked by COVID and the war in Ukraine that could have rallied the support of enough of the Tory parliamentary party behind it to turn the tide of public opinion. Like, no moral judgement here, I just think that the best part of creating is taking part in it. It's the hardship of undoing and doing again many times until you get it right. It's noticing how better you got and then look at your work with actual feelings about the process.

Here in FL more people who own their property are going without insurance because crazy expensive and insurers refuse to pay out when calamity hits. The real hardship is for people with mortgages who are required by their lenders to insure the property. They're sitting ducks to the insurers.
