You're welcome! That sounds like a great plan. I can recommend the Hida train north from Nagoya to Toyama, which has great seafood (see link!) and you could stop at Takayama (now quite touristy but still lovely) or Gero (quieter). www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/slo...

IIRC (NAD!) they said when I had a HIDA scan it was not necessarily for BA issues, but testing the gallbladder function? I could be wrong (I could feel my guts squeeze! It was weird!) Also, there are oral meds for Bile Acid Malabsorption (used when the gallbladder is removed). Not sure if useful +
