I HIGHLY doubt it's a cultural thing - just someone who hasn't actually done housework in their own life. But my aforementioned worker was a parent in her 40s and did things like not using clothespins to secure bedsheets to the clothesline. We both live in coastal windy areas.

They'll be better than okay. It is good for them (especially as future men) to see that women are able to go off and do stuff outside of the household and that your husband is someone who might stay home and do childcare and/or housework. You are actively benefiting them!
